Olomana Gardens Permaculture and Aquaponics
Martinez Brings Farm Philosophy To DVD
Wednesday - August 19, 2009  By Linda Dela Cruz

The DVD Olomana Gardens Permaculture and Aquaponics provides a one-hour tour of the Waimanalo farm to help farmer Glenn Martinez spread the word that everything can work together for a sustainable future.

Martinez produced it in partnership with Al Cloutier, who also has a personal documentary project about sustainable food supplies in Hawaii. Martinez was one of the many interviews in that project.

“He said, how would you like to do a how-to DVD for me?“recalled Cloutier.“So we did the DVD, and he’s selling them like hotcakes. They’re just flying out of his hands, God bless him.”
Cloutier explained that the Martinez farm has a system where everything works in synergy in a symbiotic relationship. “The earthworms that he raises and sells eat the garbage; he feeds the earthworms to his chickens. The earthworms also eat the waste from the chickens - it’s self-perpetuating.”

Sales proceeds from the $24.95 DVD are divided equally between Martinez and Cloutier.

Cloutier uses his Olomana Gardens Permaculture and Aquaponics profits - as well as some funds from his day job managing Hawaii Kai Retirement Community - to complete Lono’s Bounty.

New Restaurant Service Training DVD 1st of it's Kind to Use Neuro- Linguistic-Programming Techniques (NLP)

World Class Restaurant Service Training DVD Teaches New Generation of Restaurant Employees with Cutting Edge Art and Science of Interpersonal Communication Model NLP

Honolulu, HI (1888PressRelease) September 05, 2008 - In the restaurant industry it is a cold hard fact : It doesn't matter if you have the best food in the world or the most attactive ambiance, if the service is bad, customers will not come back!

When it comes down to the bottom line, people are the most important part of a restaurant's success formula. It behooves today's smart restaurant owner to make sure the service staff is properly trained before they send them out on the floor. This is where the creators of World Class Restaurant Service DVD believes they can help.

World Class Restaurant Service Training DVD is the first of it's kind to employ techniques of Nuero-Linguistic-Programming (NLP). NLP studies the structure of how humans think and experience the world. This study has led to models of how the mind works. From these models, techniques for quickly and effectively changing thoughts, behaviors and beliefs that limit behavior have been developed.

This innovative DVD utilizes key images, music, and phrases to "anchor" the trainee into a more receptive learning state. This leveraging of human potential enables the subjects to subconsciously absorb the information. The stated goal is the viewer quickly and effectively models precision, purpose and skill. It is reported that after viewing this program, service staff performs at a higher level.

The World Class Restaurant Service DVD was written, directed, and produced by veteran restaurateur Al Cloutier. Al's years of study and practice of Nuero-Linguistic-Programming (NLP) brings another dimension to his training successes.

Al credits NLP as the key factor in his complete recovery from a badly broken leg in the year 2000. In that year, Al shattered the bones in his right leg after being thrown from a horse.

The grim prognosis that he would never walk again normally and that he might even lose the leg, did not stop him. Al utilized the techniques of NLP to overcome this disempowering belief. After spending six months in traction and learning how to walk again, he was back riding horses a year later. He now manages two successful restaurants, walking without even a limp. While writing the World Class Restaurant Service DVD Al drew on his knowledge of NLP and also on his key philosophy of guest service.

Al's philosophy of guest service stems from his belief that true success always focuses on building strong human relationships or "connecting with the guests from the heart". Without this quality, mere technique is empty. Al is passionate about the food & beverage profession and is able to communicate that passion to others. Having worked his way up through the profession many years ago, he brings a solid knowledge of table service, bartending, and product knowledge to his industry films.

The World Class Restaurant Service DVD just received this review:
"World Class Restaurant Service is a training film on DVD created especially to guide entry-level employees entering the time-honored profession of restaurant service. Filmed in beautiful Hawaii, World Class Restaurant Service covers on-the-job basics of proper teamwork, how to greet customers, winning confidence, wine service nuances, how to make a good impression, and much more. In addition to demonstrating what to do, World Class Restaurant Service also features a comic relief waiter who gives a contrasting demonstrations of what not to do! A thoroughly accessible, easy-to-follow resource, World Class Restaurant Service is an absolute must-have for any sit-down restaurant, whether owned by a small family or a large corporation - and also a useful study-at-home tool for anyone considering a career in restaurant service. 27 minutes, color."
